Everyone here at Clarkson Cleaver & Bowes Ltd has a strong
background in accountancy, taxation and business advice, often
gained by working with some of the big names in the profession.
The backgrounds to some of our key staff members are shown below,
but if there’s anything else you’d like to know
just ask – we’re always pleased to tell you!
Sarah Clarkson,
Chartered Accountant (ACA)
Director
Sarah
cut her teeth in accountancy almost 20 years ago, becoming a
Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton at the start of the
1990s. As she worked with a wide range of small and medium sized
businesses across Buckinghamshire and beyond, providing business
advice, accounting and auditing services, Sarah gained invaluable
experience in looking after the financial affairs of these companies.
Sarah would later reunite with her colleagues from Grant Thornton
but not before she’d enjoyed time working in two other
large accountancy practices, each with an impressive array of
clients. Her skills in advising businesses to maximise profits
became finely honed during this time, but Sarah believed she
could offer even more if she could do it ‘her way’.
In 2003 Sarah joined up with two of her former colleagues
to establish Clarkson Cleaver & Bowes Ltd. Since then the
practice has developed a strong regional reputation as a provider
of excellent accountancy, taxation and business advice to small
and medium sized businesses
Kathy Cleaver
Association of Financial Accountants (AFA)
Director
Kathy’s
career in accountancy began as soon as she left school, training
in taxation at a local practice and then at Grant Thornton where
she studied for the Chartered Institute of Taxation exams.
It was whilst she managed the taxation affairs of a portfolio
of owner managed businesses and the sometimes complex needs
of personal clients at Grant Thornton that she met Sarah. Sarah
and Kathy worked as a team to provide a complementary range
of services to the same clients.
Kathy left Grant Thornton to become part of a new local practice
that specialised in looking after limited company contractors.
Following the successful sale of this business she joined forces
with Sarah to form a new and successful regional practice, based
upon their extensive experience in looking after small and medium
sized businesses.
